Scope of Work

S. L. King & Associates, Inc. (SLKA) played a pivotal role in the City of Atlanta's comprehensive strategy to eliminate water quality violations stemming from combined sewer overflows (CSO). Our team provided full mechanical and electrical design services, along with project management support, for the construction of a new CSO treatment facility located on the site of the decommissioned steam plant near the R.M. Clayton Water Reclamation Center.

This advanced facility was designed to store and convey combined sewage and stormwater from the west area of Atlanta, providing a significantly higher level of treatment than existing facilities. The treatment process incorporates physical and chemical methods for enhanced removal of suspended solids and metals, followed by filtration and ultraviolet (UV) disinfection to eliminate pathogens and protect public health.

SLKA's contributions ensured code-compliant design, efficient system integration, and long-term operational reliability, supporting the City's goals for sustainability and environmental protection.
