Mohammad Tehranian is a seasoned mechanical engineer and energy efficiency expert with over a decade of proven experience in HVAC system design, building automation systems, and energy auditing. As Vice President of Mechanical Engineering at S.L. King & Associates, Inc. (SLKA), he leads the firm’s engineering division with a forward-thinking approach that integrates sustainable design, energy performance, and cutting-edge technology.
Educated and trained at the prestigious Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Sweden, Mohammad brings a global perspective to mechanical design and engineering practices. He further deepened his expertise as a research scholar at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he focused on the feasibility and application of Solar-Assisted Heat Pump systems—demonstrating his commitment to innovative, renewable, and climate-responsive solutions.
Mohammad is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Georgia and North Carolina and holds credentials as a Certified Building Commissioning Professional (CBCP) and LEED Accredited Professional with a specialty in Building Design and Construction (LEED AP BD+C). His qualifications reflect a deep understanding of integrated design principles and sustainable building systems, enabling him to deliver highly efficient, code-compliant, and performance-optimized mechanical solutions across a variety of sectors including aviation, education, healthcare, transit, water/wastewater, and municipal infrastructure.
Throughout his career, Mohammad has been instrumental in leading mechanical design for large-scale infrastructure and building projects, ensuring technical excellence from concept to completion. His hands-on experience includes HVAC system design for complex facilities, energy modeling and analysis, and the integration of building automation systems that promote operational efficiency and occupant comfort.
